Chai Concentrate
Ingredients

water

black tea bags

tablespoons
brown sugar

ginger root
(sliced)

cloves

black peppercorns

licorice root

cinnamon

allspice berries

whole
star anise
1
vanilla bean
(sliced down the middle)

teaspoon

coriander

teaspoon
nutmeg
Instructions
With the exception of the tea, bring all ingredients to a boil, then reduce to medium low heat. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
Add tea and allow to steep for 5 minutes.
Strain liquid and allow to cool to room temperature.
Combine chai concentrate with heavy cream, milk, or water in a 1:1 ratio. Optionally, add sugar or simple syrup.
Notes
Will keep approximately one week in refrigerator.
