Bitter Sherry Fizz

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces Amontillado sherry (chilled)
  • ½ ounce simple syrup
  • ¼ ounce lemon juice
  • ¼ ounce Angostura bitters
  • ~2 ounces champagne (chilled; to top)

Instructions

  • Combine ingredients in a rocks glass filled with ice.
  • Stir then top with chilled champagne.
  • Garnish with a maraschino cherry and an (optional) orange wedge.
