The negroni is the quintessential drink of an adult. Not only does the bitter flavor profile pack a punch, but this all booze recipe is quite potent—something that dates back to the negroni’s origin story.
The negroni recipe dates back to around 1919 when Count Camillo Negroni asked a bartender (Fosco Scarselli) at Cafe Casoni in Florence, Italy to use gin instead of club soda in his Americano. The Americano is a simple cocktail calling for Campari, sweet vermouth, and club soda, however, adding the gin made it more potent and an enduring classic.
