Gin and Tonic

The iconic gin and tonic. I hope you don’t need a recipe to make this, but I can give you some simple guidance to make sure your G & T is the best it can be.

Chill everything so that it’s very cold, and use a premium tonic water (Fever Tree or Q Mixers) or craft tonic syrup.

Cheers!

Gin and Tonic

The gin and tonic is truly a simple classic. One can add variety simply by altering the gin selection or even the choice of tonic water.
Course: Cocktail
Keyword: G&T, gin, lime, quinine, refreshing, summer, tonic
Servings: 1

Ingredients

  • 2 oz. gin (extra chilled)
  • 4-6 oz. tonic water (see notes for preferred brands)

Instructions

  • Pour 2 ounces of gin (London Dry is the standard style) into a rocks glass filled with ice.
  • Top with 4-6 ounces of chilled tonic water.
  • Garnish with a lime wedge.

Notes

Storing your gin in the freezer to give it some extra chill will help the tonic water retain its carbonation. A well-made G&T should be cold and very effervescent.
I highly suggest choosing a premium tonic water. It really makes all the difference. Fever Tree and Q Mixers are my personal favorites.
