Brandy Alexander

The Brandy Alexander – a classic dessert cocktail with a reputation that even includes a history of popularity among a few of The Beatles. (I’d have never known that if it weren’t for reading the back story in Robert Simonson’s book, 3-Ingredient Cocktails. Regardless, with the right Cognac and crème de cacao, it’s the perfect dessert cocktail that isn’t overbearingly sweet.

Course: Cocktail
Servings: 1

Ingredients

  • 2 oz. Cognac or brandy
  • 1 oz. crème de cacao
  • 1 oz. heavy cream

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake until chilled.
  • Strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with fresh nutmeg.
